SCHEDULE
2026 arrives with a schedule of training subjects and events. The calendar page will show you the subject for each week’s training net, which repeats monthly. This way each topic can be addressed with new information yet time between specific subjects to prepare questions and discussion for each topic. You are invited to join in, learn, share your expertise, and help round out the training.
EVENTS
Each year we look forward to recurring events; Beach-To-Beacon, Dempsey Challenge, and the ARRL Maine State Convention. Events like this need HAM Radio Operators! Currently, we do not have dates for these events, but they will be posted HERE when we find out from the organizers when they are happening.
Don’t wait until the last minute to express your interest and availability for these events. We will be looking for volunteers starting NOW and filling positions on first come first serve basis. These are excellent opportunities to help our communities, provide exposure to the public about what we do, and provide real life training.
We are looking for interest in working with GMRS on these events, so GMRS operators are also encouraged to contact us and experience handling traffic.
GMRS
One of the efforts is incorporating GMRS into our ARES communications. An initial inquiry about possible involvement by Maine GMRS operators met with considerable enthusiasm. This is the time to begin moving forward with how that can happen and be most effective. Stay tuned!
Be Heard!
Don’t wait in the wings, join the group and benefit from the training and exercises. The group will also enjoy benefiting from your experience and knowledge. If you wait until disaster strikes to help out, it’s too late.
